Potty Training Week 4

Monday, accident free~~~~ Hurray!

Tuesday morning, he leaked a little bit with the size of 4 nickels, but we was able to tell us. The leakage has decreased.

With that, I think the first phase of potty training is now completed. He only took 20 days! Just need to wait for him to have better control at night time, and he'll be diaper and training pants free!

Potty Training Week 3

Nothing has changed much. Sebby might have digressed. He peed and pooped standing up in his pants earlier in the week! No idea why.

On Tuesday morning, the Nanny gave him a timeout for completely deliberately soaking his pants 3 times! After that, he never peed in his pants when she was around although some minor accidents still happened. I hate to punish the kid for mishaps during potty training. I did it once, and I don't think it helps, so I stopped doing it.

His progress has been better later in the week. It's best to keep asking him if he needs to pee pee or poo poo. Sometimes he would tell us before he wets himself. Sometimes he would wet his pants a little before telling us. It's just like the end of week 1.

Changes on Sunday!!!

We went out most of the day, and he had the training pants on. He called us whenever he needed to go pee pee or poo poo, and the training pants have been dry. Was there a little leak here and there in the training pants? Could be, but we'll find out in week 4. I have no idea what changed on Sunday, but he had been a very good boy on Sunday.

So, this week has been a roller coaster. A few steps backward, then with a GIANT step forward. Let's see if he can sustain that.

Stay tuned...

Potty Training Week 2

Day 8:
He was still in love the diaper. He refused to take it off when he woke up. He also refused to go potty. Perhaps we should force him to sit there. Not sure. Yes, he wet his pants without telling anyone. Another disaster. We felt like he was digressing. The nanny had been taking him to the bathroom every 30 min; just like day 1. He even pooped in the shower stall as soon as he walked in! lol.

Day 9:
He still resisted to sit on the toilet in the morning, but we dragged him anyway. When he moved around trying to get out, the pee went everywhere... :( The nanny had to drag him there every 30 to 45 min.

Day 10:
Same as Day 9. We tried to ask him if he needed to pee now. If he said yes, we would bring him to the potty. It's back to where he was in day 3 or 4.

Day 11:
The nanny said he has to be asked constantly whether he needed to pee pee; otherwise, he tells you when he pees a little on his pants.

Day 12:
In the morning, he told daddy he needed to pee. Ok, he didn't really say he needed to go, but he yelled "DAAAAADDY!" That was a great accomplishment. Let's see how long it holds up. Later in the morning, the nanny still had to ask him whether he needed to pee pee.

Day 13:
Today is a big test. There's a play date with Nathan and Daniel at Steven's place. We plan to give him the training pants. Let's see if he's confused with the training pants and diapers.

Potty Training Week 1

We started potty trained Sebby's on Monday, April 5. We expected to changed tons of pants/short and wash it nightly.Bought bunch of shorts from Carter (.99 cents) when we went to SD last September, 2009.

Day 1.
The nanny would bring Sebby's to the toilet every 30 minutes. He resisted and didn't like to sit there, of course. Even if he was sitting there, he would cry and want to go down from the potty. The nanny would let Sebby to sit in the toilet for 10 minutes. He would bring a book with him or something to occupy him. As expected, when mommy an daddy came home, we would follow through and keep the same routine as during the day. Of course, did 1 load at night time when he asleep. Around 5-6 pants/short.

Day 2.
Same routine... we fed him dinner by sitting in the vinyl rather in his high chair. There was some small leakage but he didn't seem to mind being wet as he was trying to control holding in his bladder. When we saw that, he would ask him if he wanted to pee and he said No in Vnese. We still took him to the toilet anyway and he did pee. He went commando from times since he refused to wear pant/short after he pee. He had an accident since he's used to wear diapers, he had 1 dry nugget on the vinnyl and shortly after that another big one on another side of the vinnyl. Did small load of laundry at night times.

Day 3.
Same Routine...the nanny would bring him in every 30 minutes. This time he had no accident and did manage to go as being told for every 30 minutes and he only had to changed 1-2 pair of short/pant. Woohoo..huge improvement from Sebby as he's trying to control his bladder. He had not yet try to call one of us when he needed to go to pee or poo, but we would remind him to ask one of us to take him to pee.

When we came home to do the follow through routine, yes, he wet a little bit and would ran to the toilet to release his bladder.

Day 4.
Huge improvement today, Sebby would run around and go up n down the stair and the nanny would asked if he needed to pee or poo and he did poop in the toilet this time and pee for every 1/2 an hour with no accident. He would say it's huge and he would flush the toilet after he went #2. We didn't have to do laundry tonight.

Day 5.
He managed to call the nanny if he want to to ask to go to pee. He would say" wet pant". She only changed him 1 pair of pant today. He didn't go to #2 today, since he has a minor cold today. No need to do laundry tonight either. Since we didn't want to bombarded with whether he need to go to pee and instead he would need go call one of us if he need go to pee. We kept asking every 30 min or so. Just whenever if he drinks more water than he would go more often.

Day 6.
Since he didn't go to poopoo yesterday, it's a concern and in the late afternoon, we took turn to put in the toilet whenever he needed to. In the evening, he said "wet" again, and we took him to the toilet. His pants weren't wet, but it's just the way he expresses himself that he needed to go potty. While we thought he was doing #1, he did #2. Phew! What a relief. He pooped! We put towel on the sofa just in case he would forget and leak if he's into whatever he's focus on (TV). Now, he would ask one of us go to go pee. Sometimes his pants were wet a little before he would call us. One time in the afternoon, he went to pee all by himself without telling us. When we found him in the restroom, he was sitting on the toilet, but the floor was wet. I guess he couldn't make it in time when he was taking his pants off. We were surprised by his independence. He did well.

Day 7.
Disaster! He refused to go potty after he got up. Maybe he didn't have the need to go. He ended up wetting his pants big time! In the afternoon, the wetness continued. He would only call us when he wet a little on his pants. I guess he was still learning how to control his muscle. Right around bed time, he pooped in his diaper! ugh...

Puzzles, anyone?

For now, Sebby's favorite past time is puzzles. He can put 25 pieces of puzzle together. He likes to play puzzles more than his train toy.

Brushing Sebby's teeth

This is how we usually brush his teeth at night times, but it's getting way better now and he's actually complying now.

Before it was a battle. He would have a fuss about it and yell no no no. We tried all the things we could think of, including singing his fav song ABCs or number counting. When mommy was around, he wanted his mom to brush his teeth while daddy was pinning him down. LOL. We said if you don't brush your teeth, your tooth would fall out, just like the dinosaur in the dinosaur which has his tooth falling out. But yeah, like that would work! :p
